Coach Vermeil was the winning coach and QB Kurt Warner the Most Valuable Player. A classic memory for St. Louis Ram fans is the offense that was on the field in the era when they won the Superbowl in 1999 was nicknamed The Greatest Show On Turf.

In 2005, the St. Louis Rams finished the season with a 6-10 losing season. Sixth year head coach Mike Martz was fired after the season ended.

For 2006, new head coach Scott Linehan was hired.

In 2006, the St. Louis Rams improved to 8-8.

For 2007, the Rams aquired 7th year (2nd team) WR Drew Bennett, 6th year (2nd team) TE Randy McMicheal and 7th year (2nd team) KR Dante Hall.

In the 2007 NFL Draft, the Rams selected DE Adam Carriker. The remaining selections were FB Brian Leonard, CB Jonathan Wade, C Dustin Fry, CB Jonathan Wade, C Dustin Fry, DT Clifton Ryan, OT Ken Shackleford, DT Keith Jackson and Derek Stanley.
